Chester Fields is one of America's most successful sculptors. In a market saturated with competition and product, Fields's magnificent carvings continue to fetch upwards of tens of thousands of dollars. We at Greg Lane Fine Arts consider Fields one of the world's best wildlife sculptors, and are thrilled to feature his name on our already-impressive register of artists.
Born in the rural community of The Dalles, Oregon, Chester Fields had a great deal of wildlife inspiration from which to draw. Fields's informal natural education continued at the age of eight, when his family moved to a 100,000 acre ranch in British Columbia. There he was able to study up-close and personal such animals as deer, pheasant, moose, and of course, eagles.
Chester Fields experimented with illustrations using many different species of animals as subjects before he finally committed wholeheartedly to the eagle. With more than 28 years of subsequent experience painting and sculpting the eagle, Fields's classic works are some of the world's most impressive. His work is available in a variety of differed mediums, sizes, colors and styles to suit a variety of aesthetics.
