GREG LANE FINE ARTS
Charles Bragg

There are certain artists whose specialty lies in translating real-life moments into practical works of art whose characteristics are nearly indistinguishable from their authentic muses. Charles Bragg is not one such artist. Known as one of America's "foremost social satire artists," Charles Bragg's humorous translations of social studies has even the most serious of art aficionados cracking a smile.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1931, Charles Bragg is a multi-faceted artist. Not content to restrict his talents to one artistic medium, Bragg is accomplished as a painter as well as a sculptor. His work in both fields has yielded many awards, including the Gold Medal for the National Society of Illustrators and the Award of Merit from the Art Directors Guild of New York.

The great thing about Charles Bragg's work is that it doesn't take itself too seriously. A seasoned observer of mankind, Bragg's work reflects a social commentary that is every bit as personal as it is accurate. His lampoon art characterizes everything from the justice system to professional ballet. In other words, individuals of all walks of life can find something to which they can relate in Bragg's collection.

At Greg Lane Fine Arts, we believe that some of the best forms of artistic expression are the satirical type. That is why we feature an extraordinary collection of Charles Bragg art.
