GREG LANE FINE ARTS
Michael Wilkinson

Sensual is perhaps the best word to sum up the sculptures created by Michael Wilkinson. An artist whose extraordinary grasp of the human form is outshined only by his ability to romantically re-create it in carving, Michael Wilkinson is highly acclaimed as one of the best sculptures of the 21st century. That is precisely why we at Greg Lane Fine Arts are thrilled to include him in our impressive roster of artists.

Michael Wilkinson is unique for many reasons, one being his early education as an artist. Wilkinson served as an illustrator in the Air Force and was given the opportunity to study the world over from a charmed perspective. No place had a greater impact on his style, however, than Japan. While stationed there, Wilkinson was given the unique opportunity to study Japanese artistic style, traces of which are evident in his art today.

After working exclusively with bronze, in the mid-80s, Wilkinson expanded his artistic language to include clear acrylic. Like only a handful of his contemporaries, Wilkinson is adept at creating both bronze and acrylic sculptures. This dual flavor makes his art appealing to individuals of all material aesthetic.

At Greg Lane Fine Arts, we are pleased to have a vast collection of both acrylic and bronze sculptures by Michael Wilkinson. We hope you will continue to browse our online gallery and see what we have in store. In the meantime, should you have any questions about our selection of fine art, please don't hesitate to contact us.
