GREG LANE FINE ARTS
Richard Macdonald

Richard MacDonald is a national treasure. From his famous commercial illustrations to his magnificent private sculptures, MacDonald is a multi-dimensional artist whose talent is constantly evolving. Here at Greg Lane Fine Arts, we don't feel our artist roster would be complete without at least one offering by Richard MacDonald. Subsequently, we decided to outdo ourselves by adding a vast assortment of MacDonald sculptures to our catalogue.

Born and bred in California, Richard MacDonald began his artistic career as an illustrator. Educated at the prestigious Art Center College of Design, MacDonald launched his popularity by creating commercial works of art for the likes of dozens of prestigious corporations. Some of MacDonald's clients included Coca-Cola, IBM, American Express and numerous professional sports organizations.

Although it paid the bills, MacDonald felt uninspired as a commercial artist. Subsequently, he began sculpting. What is perhaps most amazing about Richard MacDonald is the fact he is a self-taught sculptor. Although his work seems to indicate otherwise, MacDonald received no formal training for carving. Regardless, his work is both evocative and compelling.

MacDonald's sculptures are so impressive, as a matter of fact, that he was been commissioned by both the 1996 Olympic Games as well as the 100th US Open Championship to create one-of-a-kind extraordinary works of art. But don't formulate an opinion of Richard MacDonald based on his resume alone. Browse our online gallery for images to sample and see his work for yourself! Then, once you find one you can't live without, give us a call and we'll help you add it to your private collection.
