GREG LANE FINE ARTS
Mario Jason

Every sculptor has a specific image and/or concentration with which he feels most comfortable. In the case of Mario Jason, dance is his muse. Since the 1980s, Mario Jason's dance sculptures have attracted a worldwide audience of fans who revel in his magnificent bronze interpretations of dancers in motion.

Mario Jason was born in Argentina and spent some time as a child in Israel where he attended Bat Yam's School of Drawing and Sculpture. His true education as an artist, however, took place in Los Angeles, California. There, at the Otis Parson Art Institute, Jason studied both dance and anatomy. Subsequently, he developed an acute understanding of the body in movement.

One of the characteristics that most distinctly sets Jason apart from many of his contemporaries is his acute attention to detail. This is not only a result of Jason's grasp of the human anatomy, but also because he involves himself in the entire process of his sculptures' development. From the initial sketch to the final finishing, Mario Jason is completely proactive in the creative process.

Another distinctive trait that Mario Jason possesses is the fact that he does not limit his sculptures to one style of dance. Flamenco, ballet, jazz--you name it, Jason sculpts it. Here at Greg Lane Fine Arts, we are host to a large selection of Mario Jason sculptures.
