GREG LANE FINE ARTS
Ramon Parmenter

Ramon Parmenter is a modern day Renaissance man. Exceptional at many artistic mediums including drawing, painting, poetry and sculpting, Ramon has contributed more toward the creative world in his 50-plus years on earth than most individuals could in twice that time. For this reason, we are proud to feature a vast assortment of Parmenter pieces here at Greg Lane Fine Arts.

Born in Eugene, Oregon in 1954, Ramon Parmenter is one of America's youngest art masters. He received formal training at Walla Walla College as well as Southern Oregon College of Art, which in turn served as a foundation for his subsequent success. Although he is well versed in many artistic disciplines, it is Parmenter's sculptures that have cemented his reputation as a remarkable talent.

One of the reasons that so many people are drawn to Parmenter's sculptures is because they have a tremendous sense of balance and movement. Ramon's muse is the living body in motion. Though his subjects aren't necessarily engaged in extreme physical activities, Parmenter manages to capture beauty and grace in every piece he produces.

At Greg Lane Fine Arts, we are proud to host a number of sculpture pieces by Ramon Parmenter. Although they are beautiful as a collection, each piece claims its own distinctive style. As the artist himself once said, "The beauty of the living form . . . has fascinated me . . . in the torso I find endless drama. The essence of my role as an artist is to capture that drama at its most poignant moment."
