Michel Delacroix spent most of his life in Paris. In addition to gaining formal education at the celebrated art institute Ecole de Beaux Arts, Delacroix took on independent study by familiarizing himself closely with the city. Delacroix's intimate knowledge of Paris made it possible for him to create emotive contemporary paintings with which few could compare, and yet he chose a different path.

The characteristic that sets Delacroix's art apart from all of his colleagues is that he chose to frame his work entirely in the past. Almost all of Delacroix's work represents ethereal images of Paris in the 1940s. As a child of this time, Delacroix combined recollection with contemporary perspective to yield truly extraordinary images.

Self-described as an artist "of dreams and the poetic past," Delacroix is one of the most widely-respected painters of his time. Named Official Artist of the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, it is clear to see that Michel's popularity extends far beyond his beloved Paris.
